I absolutely love when the Bruins play the Hurricanes because no matter how good or shitty either team is, it’s always a good game. For some reason the Bruins always have trouble with them and this year shouldn’t be any different. The Hurricanes are coming off of back to back wins, although both were against the Buffalo Sabres. The ‘Canes are pretty deep at the top 6 forwards with both Staal brothers anchoring the 1 and 2 lines. However, I don’t see that being an issue for the B’s defense. The biggest weakness the ‘Canes have right now are in their own end. They aren’t very sound and Cam Ward hasn’t been playing well at all.
If the B’s can pepper Ward early and get at least one on the board without Cam getting any confidence, then they shouldn’t have an issue. The B’s are a very balanced team and with the 4th line rolling like they have been it’ll keep the top 2 lines fresh for the third period run. I would really love to see the power play produce tonight. I’ve seen flashes where they are moving the puck incredibly well but they can’t hesitate to shoot. Sometimes making the extra pass isn’t the right move. Oh and by the love of God when we do decide to shoot can we not get our shot blocked. I swear 50% of the time we shoot right into the other teams shot blockers. It’s infuriating.
I don’t think tonight will be a blowout but the B’s win 3-1 or 3-2 on the road.
